We know you are currently in the middle of your final exams. We also know you have great coding and communication skills. That's why we have simplified the application process for you. You only need to submit your name, email and whatsapp number and pick a time-slot for a 15-minute interview.

You do not need to prepare for the interview. The interview will not include technical questions. We do not want you to be distracted from your exam preparation.The only purpose of the interview is to briefly get to know you and understand what you are interested in so we can make sure the traineeship would fully fit your interest.

We know each one of you has had their own area of interest in the past three years where you have advanced beyond average. And you each have your own technological topics that you want to dive into next. Some of you want to do full-stack web development, others may want to fully focus on AI, others may want to deep-dive into security questions.

We will respect your individual level and interest in customizing your trainee curriculum to best fit your ideal learning curve, while at the same time making sure your skills fit the needs of employers.

The main company giving out stipends for the trainee cohort starting in September 2022 is the German digital agency Ape Unit. They are an awesome team working on some very advanced corporate website and app projects and building exciting Web 3.0 tools based on blockchain technology. Many of you will find them to be an ideal traineeship company and an ideal future employer.

But some of you may have other interests. You may want to focus on a different set of technologies. Therefore, we are putting together a portfolio of additional international and local companies that we can use to match the exact technology interest you have. So far we are in touch with companies focussing on AI/ML, security and big data and more companies are joining every month.

The core trainee spots are limited to 30 persons. However, we are able to arrange for additional trainee spots for RCA graduates.

Note that, while the initial traineeship (1st of September to 28th of February) is full-time and will not leave you any time to pursue university studies in parallel to it, once you are hired as a junior developer (starting from March 2023) you will be able to work part-time if you wish, which will allow you to pursue university studies in parallel to your work.

The first month of the traineeship are the trial weeks. In this month the basic stipend is 100,000 RWF. From the second month onwards it increases to 120,000 RWF.

Any trainee that manages to become fully productive on their employer's projects before the end of the traineeship will receive a topped-up stipend. This can go up to 250,00-300,000 for high performing trainees and even beyond that for extraordinary performance.
